Bowling for Balboa TCBF Fundraiser

Posted by admin on December 2, 2009 under Fundraiser | Be the First to Comment

Details for the 2010 Twin Cities Balboa Festival are coming together and it’s shaping up to be even better with a brand new venue, a stellar instructor line-up and our favorite Minnesota musicians.

To help raise funds for deposits, we’ll be hosting a Bowling Fundraiser on Sunday, December 6 from 3-5pm.

Cost $15 for those pre-registered, $20 at the door
Price includes 2 hours of bowling, shoes, pizza and soda.

There will be a contest similar to the one held at TCBF…teams of 4-7 will submit their highest total score for a single game. The team with highest average score per person will win TCBF apparel.

We’ll also be having a raffle and silent auction. If you have any items you would like to donate, please let me know.

The bowling alley features plenty of TVs that will be playing the Vikings game, as well as 2 for 1’s (or 4 for 2’s according to our MC Peter Kirwin) and other happy hour specials.

Please invite anyone who would have fun bowling or would like to support the MN Balboa scene.

To register, please confirm on the Facebook event, or e-mail krista@pazazdance.com

Mondays, August 3, 10. 17 & 24

Charleston is fun, partner dancing is fun, put those together and you get some…well…fun. :) We’ll be going over some of our favorite patterns but more so discussing what makes the moves work on the social dance floor and how to get more comfortable to faster tempos. Lindy Hop’s daddy awaits!

Cost: $10/class
@ Four Seasons Dance Studio

Instructors:
Andrew Thigpen (also known as Karen’s “brother from another mother”) and Karen Turman (also known as Andrew’s “sister from another mister”) are basically the same person. All they want to do is dance the Lindy Hop and make each other laugh. Having fun is awesome. They hope you like awesome too. (Since Andrew busted his foot, he will be assisting Karen with the verbal teaching aspect and staying off his foot as much as possible–although he’s an amazing 1-legged lead!)
